It's amazing how many folks in Ely have lived near Chicago at one time or another and I am no exception. I grew up about an hour South of that city, a part of a family that headed North every chance we got. To me North has always meant adventure, recreation and beauty. I now live about as far North as you can get in the continental U.S. in a town that boasts of being "at the end of the road."
All of my career life has been in ministry. First with Campus Crusade for Christ and now as a pastor of a small church in Ely. I was infected with the "Fishing bug" early on and studied under a father who some have said was the greatest fisherman they have ever fished with. I am a "want-to-be" artist and writer - Ely suits me fine.
