Joelle Fanciullo
Therapist in Private Practice in New York, NY
I am a holistic psychotherapist, with a background in graduate psychology, clinical social work, body-centered therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and spiritual healing. My passion is helping people develop a better relationship with themselves, and especially with their bodies, so that they can find love, peace, and acceptance within their one true home.
As a therapist, I serve my purpose by wholeheartedly allowing people to be themselves with me. This may sound oversimplified, but spending time in all of our joyful and painful layers with a supportive, nonjudgmental person is truly a rare experience that I love to provide for my clients. While my clinical knowledge and training continue to inform my practice, the most important element of my work is radical acceptance of those who seek my help.
I have found that this world can raise us to lose sight of our fundamental needs and desires. Uncertainty about what we want and need in life can can leave us feeling confused about who we are, reaching for goals that seem impossible to meet, or finding all types of ways to escape from thinking about it all.
Together, my clients and I listen closely to their mental, physical, and/or spiritual pain through talk therapy and body-centered techniques. In this way, we learn from their experiences, identify the root of their suffering, and clarify what they want and need most in life. I guide them in healing their deepest pain and we celebrate their joy and empowerment.
