About Me
I’m an experienced special education teacher and instructional coach dedicated to helping educators implement evidence-based strategies that enhance instruction, accelerate learning, and improve post-secondary outcomes—especially for students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
My mission is to develop lifelong learners and creative thinkers committed to improving the quality of life for all. I thrive in collaborative professional learning communities that cultivate world-class leaders prepared to contribute to an evolving and inclusive global society.
I currently serve as an Online Special Education Instructional Strategist with the Iowa City Community School District Online Learning Program (2024–present). Previously, I was an Instructional Strategist at Wilson Middle School and a District Special Education Instructional Coach and teacher in the Cedar Rapids Community School District (2012–2024). My leadership experience also includes serving as Director of Special Education, Curriculum, and Assessment at South Tama County CSD and as Learning Strategist Coordinator at West Liberty CSD, where I began my career as a high school special education teacher.
I live with my wife and our three daughters in West Liberty, Iowa—a town whose values of diversity, inclusion, and community deeply influence my work as an educator and leader. It’s a close-knit, welcoming place we’re proud to call home.
