I am a seasoned entrepreneur who is pioneering a type of context-aware computing that improves how people are served, gives them control, and protects their privacy. At the same time we help businesses to personalize B2C services based on the customer's context and permissions. My career has been dedicated to applying automation to help people to utilize and manage information from disparate connected sources.
In the mid-90's I founded a business that developed an integration platform for manufacturers. Today I'm applying what I have learned to address a similar problem for consumers and the businesses that serve them. I am crazy enough to believe that we can address a very large and growing need.
What is driving me: I believe that technologies that generate information are ahead of the technologies that help people to manage and utilize this information. Similarly, technologies that utilize personal contextual information are ahead of the technologies that allow people to control the use of their personal information. In addition, the "app for everything" approach is inherently limited; there is a practical limit to how many apps a person can use. People must be given control of their automation and they must have control of their personal metadata. IMHO these problems are best solved with a context-aware integration platform that interacts with users via a "superapp" based on a personal assistant metaphor; most importantly, the user must be in complete control!
