Joel Renner

I am an inventive higher-ed professional who enjoys the challenges in helping people, departments and organizations reach their goals.

My job is to make my school look good and my colleagues more compelling, while giving students the tools they need to take advantage of all of the resources at their disposal, helping them make the connections necessary to be successful.

I work with web, print, social media, and operational management, to create a brand message that gets back to the basics. I have found in my experience that most educational institutions/business are trying to do too much instead of maximizing what they have.

I also work with industry professionals and graduate level students on their personal brand and help them with social media career strategies including LinkedIn profiles, and using Facebook and Twitter for the job search. I love presenting about all of the ways students, alumni and professionals can use social media to achieve their career goals.

What I am all about--

I love making my ideas come to life, I don't just say, I also do.

- I enjoy taking complex problems and creating useful and executable solutions to them.

- I love learning, about the career paths that others have taken, and the new ways social media and the internet is making our job search easier and harder at the same time!
