Joel Schulz
Joel Schulz currently operates as a Management Consultant for medium to large businesses, writes for various publications as a Freelance Journalist and is Publisher and Executive Editor of the online publication, The Reel Can.
Joel has over four decades of film production, broadcast, management consulting, and post-secondary teaching experience. Currently he is Chair of the SAIT Polytechnic Film and Video Production Advisory Board. Beginning as a cameraman for the CBC in the sixties, his career includes;
- building, managing, and securing funding for independent radio stations;
- management of telecommunications projects with budgets that exceeded $50M;
- teaching accounting, entrepreneurship, & management sciences at the college and university level.
- Securing funding and managing finance for independent filmmakers.
Joel secured the funding and negotiated the partnerships that led to Canada's first commercially available Cable TV Internet service which was a joint venture of First Nations, Sprint International, Unitel (CN/CP Telecommunications), and Cable Regina. He holds a graduate degree in Project Management as well as undergraduate credentials in Radio and Television Broadcasting. He is an expert on project planning and controls.
