Hi, I'm a multilingual public relations professional and executive communications trainer with more than 20 years of experience in creating and directing media relations, crisis communications and social media campaigns for general and multicultural audiences. The bulk of my experience is in the education, health care, travel & tourism, real estate development, sports and professional services industries.
I recently worked for Edelman, the world’s largest communications firm, where I directed numerous integrated communications campaigns for various clients. I led a team that provided crisis communications counsel for a national outpatient surgical center facing a 60 Minutes inquiry earning me and my team a Florida PRSA Radiance award for crisis campaign of the year. I positioned Carnegie Mellon University and its autonomous vehicle lab as the pioneer in the field with media coverage that included a USA Today feature story reaching millions. I helped the NASCAR Can-Am team introduce a new clothing line at the Daytona 500 driven by a Facebook Live interview with NASCAR Champion Bobby Labonte that was viewed 90,000 times. I led the team that launched the new, lavender-scented Angel Soft toilet paper with a national experiential marketing campaign targeting US Hispanics that drove strong sales in the highly competitive value segment.
While at Burson-Marsteller, another gobal PR firm, I conducted media relations, crisis communications and media training for such globally recognized brands as the Mexico Tourism Board, IKEA, Accenture, State Farm Insurance, Shell Oil Company and others. I was a public relations director for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts and its theme parks, cruise line, hotels and restaurants across the globe. I also was head of media relations for national law firm Akerman Senterfitt.
I am an expert executive media trainer, fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and hold a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Brigham Young University.
