A classically-trained actor of long standing in the New York City area, Joe most recently appeared as the Porter (among other roles) in Arkansas Repertory's production of "Macbeth". He has also appeared in the Rep's production of "Death of A Salesman" - with Robert Walden - in which he understudied (and performed) the role of Willy Loman).He will be appearing in Phoenix Theatre Ensemble's January 2016 production of Glyn Maxwell's adaptation of Dostoevsky's "The Gambler" as well as reprising his performance as Edward R. Murrow in their spring production of Joe Vitale's one-person show, "Murrow". His previous performances with Phoenix Theatre Ensemble have included the Commander in their award-winning production of "Don Juan in Hell" by George Bernard Shaw , the Old Man (Pedagogus) in "Electra", Creon in Anouilh's "Antigone", and Agamemnon in both "Iphigenia at Aulis" and the premiere of Glyn Maxwell's "Agamemnon Home". He has appeared as Father Lux in Riot Act company's production of "Our Lady of 121st Street" as well as Shylock in The Shakespeare Forum's production of "The Merchant of Venice and FDR's Secretary of War Henry Stimson in Douglas Lackey's "Daylight Precision" at Theater for the New City.He spent ten seasons with Jean Cocteau Repertory, in roles as diverse as Iago ("Othello"), Dr. Prentice ("What the Butler Saw"), Mick ("The Caretaker"), James Joyce ("Travesties") and Lady Bracknell in "The Importance of Being Earnest". He appears as Bob Jefries int he film "Forbidden Cuba" (2015) as well as "The Sublet" (viewable on funnyordie.com at around 15:30). He's also appeared as Morrill Goddard in NatGeo's "American Genius: Hearst v. Pulitzer" as well as in episodes of "My Dirty Little Secret" and "The Secret Lives of Stepford Wives" (Investigation Discovery) and "Mysteries at the Museum" (Travel Channel).
