Joe Mullins Congressman
CEO and president of The Mullins Companies in Florida
Congressman Joe Mullins has built a career shaped by persistence, responsibility, and a steady commitment to the people and places that influenced his life. His path reflects years of experience across business, public service, media, and philanthropy, guided by a practical mindset and a focus on long-term impact rather than quick recognition.
Raised in Evans, Georgia, Joe developed discipline early through involvement in athletics, theater, and leadership programs during high school. He participated in organizations such as FBLA, Jr. Achievement, and 4H, which helped him understand teamwork, communication, and accountability. These early lessons played an important role in shaping how he later approached leadership in both business and public service.
Joe Mullins of Augusta earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management from the University of Georgia. He later attended UCLA, where he studied under Hollywood agent Henry Holmes. During this time, he gained valuable insight into the sports and entertainment industries. Early in his professional life, Joe represented athletes and entertainers who went on to achieve national recognition. He also interned with the Anthony Robbins companies, where he further developed leadership and organizational skills that supported his future growth.
As his experience expanded, Joe moved into entrepreneurship on a larger scale. He became CEO and president of The Mullins Companies, which includes Mullins Properties and Mullins Sports & Entertainment. His business interests grew across real estate, construction, franchise management, restaurants, and service-based operations. Over time, his real estate division expanded to include hundreds of multifamily units and commercial properties throughout the Southeast.
Joe Mullins, Flagler, is known for an active business approach, often acquiring underperforming properties and investing the time and resources needed to stabilize and improve them. During periods of economic uncertainty, including the COVID-19 pandemic, he worked closely with his teams to guide properties through recovery and restore long-term stability.
Public service became another meaningful chapter of his career when he served in Flagler County. As Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners, Joe focused on infrastructure, broadband expansion, financial stability, and community-focused initiatives. He worked alongside local, state, and federal partners to address challenges related to housing, mental health services, and disaster recovery.
In addition to business and public service, Congressman Joe Mullins built a strong media presence through his radio program, “Live, Work, Shop, Play in Florida.” The show reaches listeners across Florida and Georgia and features conversations with leaders from politics, business, sports, and entertainment.
Philanthropy remains central to Joe’s work. Through Mullins Charities, he has helped raise significant funding for organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Boys & Girls Club, and the Salvation Army. With more than fourteen years sober, he also advocates for addiction recovery, serving on task forces and supporting families affected by substance abuse.
