Joe Musselman is the Founder and Managing Partner at Bravo Victor Venture Capital or “BV.” Joe is accountable for the firm's day-to-day mission operations and strategic vision. He oversees all teams at the firm: capital, investment, portfolio, and fund operations, including Schoolhouse, the fund’s seven-week accelerator experience.

Immediately before launching the Fund, Joe co-founded and launched Broom Ventures in March 2020. In his debut fund, a $55M generalist strategy, where he led the firm's people, portfolio, and capital operations, hinging on his proprietary thesis of TLCq - Teams, Leadership, and Culture equation. He led investments into all dual-use companies such as Anduril, Epirus, X-Bow Systems, Nuview, Spartan Radar, Tive, and others such as Nylas and Standard Metrics. He earned Board Observer status at Tive, X-Bow, and Epsilon3 through his ongoing work with these teams.

Joe is the twentieth man in his family to have served in uniform, dating back to the American Revolutionary War. He served in the U.S. Navy, then CEO turned venture capital investor. He focuses on building, advising, and investing in extraordinary Teams, Leadership, and Culture (TLC). Joe’s investment director experience is extensive and diverse, including board roles at the NASDAQ, national non-profits and endowment funds, and companies ranging from early-formation stages to multi-billion market cap companies across several industries and sectors. He has served as special advisor to two sitting U.S. Presidents and the U.S. Senate and Congress members. As a result of his life’s work, Joe has been recognized by multiple global publications such as Bloomberg, TechCrunch, WSJ, NYT, Forbes, CNN Tech, and Business Insider for his work in partnership and talent strategies, leadership, and corporate culture. Joe graduated from DePaul University (Chicago, IL) and later received Certificates in Non-Profit (Harvard), Design Thinking (Stanford), Science of Well-Being (Yale), and Capital Markets (Pepperdine). Joe lectures at Universities such as NYU, UCSD, and UCSB on his favorite topics: The art and science of teams, leadership, and culture. Joe lives in Chicago with his wife, Hannah, and two beautiful and strong-willed children, Jack (4), Sofia (2), and number three, who will arrive on July 4, 2024.
