Joey Nguyen

A pioneer in the global e-cigarette industry, Joey Nguyen was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. Joey studied electronic communications engineering at RMIT (Melbourne University), developing a successful career in the direct marketing industry in Australia before venturing to Asia in 2006 to undertake research in the field of urban and socio-cultural development.

While on a research trip to Xi’An, China, Joey came across an amazing-looking new invention - the electronic cigarette. Skeptical as to how any gadget could replace the satisfaction of tobacco for smokers with a safer, cleaner alternative, Joey obtained some e-cig prototypes and set about testing the idea for himself. Joey, a pack-a-day cigarette smoker for more than 10 years, had made many attempts to quit - struggling and failing with each method tried. This time around, determined to make the switch to e-cigs, within 2 months Joey had cut down to just 1 or 2 tobacco cigarettes a day. Motivated by his own quit-smoking success story, Joey became inspired to help free the world's smokers from life-threatening tobacco addiction.

Even more confident and energetic in business and life as a 'non-smoker', by 2007 Joey had become involved in the wholesale distribution of products throughout Europe, United States of America, and some parts of Asia. Everywhere Joey needed to travel for the wholesaling business, time was found to host electronic cigarette forums and events in an effort to educate smokers, both expats and locals, about the new technology that had changed his life so profoundly. Meanwhile, through day-to-day activities, Joey was acquiring a solid background in e-commerce, and exposure to high-end retail strategies from helping to develop markets in Asia for luxury European brands including BVLGARI, Ferragamo and CH Carolina Herrera. It was inevitable that Joey's passion for improving the health of smokers, and broad experience in business at international level, would eventually converge and arrive at the opening of his own global headquarters in Shanghai, China.

In 2009 Joey registered "Nobacco" to market and distribute Nobacco-brand electronic cigarettes in his home country, Australia. Starting from a premises in the heart of Melbourne, Nobacco launched the website www.nobacco.com.au in late 2010, offering quality electronic cigarette starter kits and ecig supplies combined with the ultimate user experience.
