Joey Caughey

I’m a Senior Web Architect, Technical Lead, and CTO with 20+ years of experience designing, building, and scaling cloud-native platforms across SaaS, AI, fintech, blockchain, media, and enterprise applications.

My background spans full-stack architecture, modern frontend engineering, distributed and event-driven systems, cloud infrastructure, product strategy, UX, and technical leadership. I’ve led products from concept and architecture through implementation, deployment, scaling, and long-term operation.

My current focus is Agentic AI, intelligent automation, and AI-augmented software development. I build workflows where AI agents can interact with real development tools, codebases, APIs, documentation, and business systems while operating within defined permissions, validation layers, and human approval gates.

This includes Figma-to-code workflows, Jira and GitHub integration, AI-assisted implementation and refactoring, automated testing and documentation, code review, MCP-based tool integration, structured tool calling, RAG/context engineering, and multi-agent orchestration.

I work with OpenAI, Anthropic Claude/Claude Code, Google Gemini, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and related AI development tooling to integrate AI across the software delivery lifecycle—from requirements and design through implementation, testing, review, and deployment.

I also developed DirectiveAI, a deterministic AI orchestration and validation framework designed to make AI workflows more reliable, compartmentalized, transparent, and auditable. My approach treats AI as a powerful component within a larger engineered system rather than an uncontrolled black box.

I bring a compliance-first engineering mindset emphasizing security, privacy, accessibility (WCAG/AODA), auditability, resilience, data integrity, and maintainability while remaining pragmatic enough for rapid product development and startup execution.
