Joseph Alexander Isaias Umana

Joseph Umana (Producer/Writer/Director) was born, raised, and educated in Los Angeles (Hollywood/West Hollywood area). Joseph comes from a Central American family background. At the tender age of 8, he would walk to the Egyptian and LACMA theaters, where he would find a way to get into screenings of Fellini, Bunuel, and Tarkovsky films. These artists would bend his imagination and cinephilia for years to come. These artist impacted Joseph’s point of view and mind, forever. Joseph attended AFI as a Directing fellow but chose to complete his graduate degree at USC School of Cinematic Arts for directing.
Joseph went to CSU Northridge for undergrad where he got his B.A. in Film Production. At CSUN, Joseph was chosen as a Hollywood Foreign Press Fellow and won grants from Kodak and Panavision for his film THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE 2009(this short won several awards including an ASC Honorable Mention). The film toured in festivals around the world. Joseph has worked production on indie features in USA and Spain. He has worked at James/Levy Management and recently interned at WME (Legal) and Lions gate (Development). Jost just finished working a year as an Intern and Creative Assistant at STUN INC.
Joseph finished his M.F.A at USC in early 2014, currently Joseph is penning his first feature film “My Mother, la incredible” and working on serval Pitches and Spec Videos for a Grammy award winning Producer.
