Joey Tyler
Florida native, Jospeh Tyler Gagliardi was born in DeLand, Florida in 1991. Gagliardi grew up in your typical Italian family full of lots of love, lots of noise, and lots of food. His parents owned a glass company for as long as he could remember. His mother was always the creative one and his father had a keen business sense. His father played the piano, bass, and guitar for Gagliardi frequently as a child. This was the beginning of his love for music.
In second grade Gagliardi's parents placed him in piano lessons. Gagliardi studied classical piano, throughout his lessons, Gagliardi performed in recitals with the company he took piano lessons with. Between the ages of 7 and 14 Gagliardi won 7 awards always placing third place or higher.
When Gagliardi was entering his Freshman year of high school he quit playing piano to avoid, "social suicide" says Gagliardi. Later that year Gagliardi's parents announced they were getting a divorce. Naturally Gagliardi was upset by this and needed a way to escape the pain he was feeling. Gagliardi starting playing piano again when he was 15 years old. This was a way for him to escape the saddness and be able to express himself in a creative way. Due to his previous piano lessons Gagliardi was more than capable of reading music, but because of the recent divorce his parents budget would decrease making him unable to purchase sheet music. This resulted in Gagliardi having to learn some of his favorite songs by ear on the piano and coaching himself through learning how to sing along with his piano.
Gagliardi continued to learn music by ear through high school. He played songs such as, "A Drop in The Ocean" by: Ron Pope and songs by Joshua Radin. His love for alternative music continued to grow as did his talent.
