John Ambrose

John Ambrose has dedicated his career to date towards helping people to realise their potential and develop their career management and employability skills. He has worked as a Careers Adviser and Connexions Adviser, supporting 13-19 aged learners to overcome barriers to learning and to manage their transitions.

John is a Strategic Partner at Complete-Careers LLP where utilises his skills, networks and experiences to support learning providers, employers and organisations to improve their career development programmes, and individuals and parents and carers to help ease transition from learning and into work.

Before he Co-developed the Complete-Careers LLP, John was a member of Lincolnshire’s Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) Team. His drive and determination has helped him to strategically support learning providers, at a local and regional level, with quality assurance and continuous professional development of CEIAG provision.

John first studied as a Careers Adviser in 2001 at Nottingham Trent University, where he successfully completed the Qualification in Careers Guidance course. He later returned Nottingham Trent University in 2013 to complete Masters accreditation in Careers Guidance, receiving a commendation for his efforts.

Career Achievements:

Co founder of Complete-Careers LLP in 2015

• Co-developed a Careers framework for Abu Dhabi Education Council in 2013
• Delivered international career development training to Omani educators in February 2012
• Speaker at an international careers conference in Banff, Canada in October 2011.
• Seconded to the Department for Children Schools and Families in 2010, which led to the introduction of the national Quality in Careers Standard to regulate CEIAG awards in England.
• Led a Lincolnshire educators’ CEIAG group to Canada in 2007 to research provision and I later hosted a reciprocal visit in 2009.
