John Garland

Born 7 Feb 1937 in West Virginia. Elementary school in Keystone, WV; Junior high and high school in Bluefield, WV, at Fairview JHS and Beaver HS, class of '54. Family moved to Christiansburg, Virginia in 1955 and I attended CHS as a post-graduate. Attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute, now known as Virginia Tech; studied Mechanical Engineering, class of '59. Entered Marine Aviation Cadet program December 1959, received Naval Aviator certificate and commission 16 June 1961. Married Harriet Whitworth 1 Sep 1961. Two daughters, Beverly Lyn and Melinda Ruth. Now reside in Texas.
