John Gerges

I am John Gerges, a Toronto-based walking tour guide and storyteller. I was born and raised in Toronto and grew up exploring different neighborhoods. I studied Communications and City Studies at the University of Toronto and later completed a certificate in Tourism and Hospitality Management at George Brown College.

I began leading walking tours in 2016. My tours focus on areas such as Graffiti Alley, Kensington Market, and Queen West. I share information about street art, local history, and how neighborhoods change over time. I do not use fixed scripts, and routes may change depending on new murals or street activity.

I live near Ossington and spend time on street photography, cycling the waterfront, and collecting vintage film cameras. I continue to document Toronto’s laneways and everyday city life.
