John D. Hermann D.O.

If there is another person that squeezes more into a 24 hour period than I do, then I want to meet them.

Carpe Diem - My thirst for knowledge and adventure is never ending and when I tell people all the things I have done in my life they simply don't believe me, but that's not important. What is important, to me ,is living each day fully and contributing my knowledge (time, talent and treasures) to make everyone's life a little better. At the end of the day, I have to feel that my day will provide me with a sense of accomplishment. YES, I'm driven

I am a Race Car Driver but one that just discovered sports car racing in 2011 and started my training in 2013. at 52, who has time to do 8 years of HPDE? I love driving but I want to RACE with a PURPOSE.

In my professional life I am a Trauma Anesthesiologist in Dallas,TX. I discovered Wilderness/Survival Medicine at the Wilderness Medical Society meeting and I have been hooked ever since. It was natural for me as a former F16 Flight Surgeon to be drawn to a group of Physicians, Nurses, Paramedics that have a love for the outdoors and are constantly looking for ways to apply their love for the good of others. Oh yes, in my spare time, I am the owner and founder of "The Hangover Clinic in San Antonio,TX. For many years, I would patch up my friends and squadron mates with IV fluid after a long night of drinking. When someone mention that a doctor had formalized the practice in Las Vegas, I decided to follow suit.

As an AF Flight Surgeon and private Pilot, I had the rare opportunity to fly with the finest F16 squadrons in the world. Whether at Mach 1.4 in the Keys; the bombing ranges on the East coast or the training areas over the Atlantic, I had one of life's special places in the back seat of the Viper. The Navy P3 squadrons at Souda Bay included me as a part of their flight crew while I was stationed there in 2003 and I had a front seat to the start of OIF. F16s, P3s F15s, C17s, C130, KC135s, Blackhawks, OH1s, UH1s have all been my way to fill my need for speed and excitement but like all good things flying and military service comes to an end.

I have turned my new found love for racing and my knowledge of Medicine and Aviation Safety toward Motorsport. My ultimate goal is to get young drivers away from street racing, onto the track and into Road Racing. My focus is on disadvantaged youth. FROM the STREET to the TRACK (FST).
