John Mark

John Mark is an American author, screenwriter, director and classical music authority who has been recording and performing classical music, as well as working in film since 1976 in Paris, London, New York and Los Angeles. He is the author of feature film screenplays "Golden Voyage" trilogy, "Deathblow – The Romanoff Empire", "After The Rainfall" and "Liszt & Chopin In Paris". His genre includes science-fiction, historical drama and contemporary drama. In addition to conceiving and writing "Liszt & Chopin In Paris" John Mark has also recorded a 4-CD promo soundtrack album in preparation for the film now in development scheduled for production in 2018 and subsequent release in 2020 In addition to studying film directing at IDHEC (Paris) as well as at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, Mr. Mark has studied classical piano and composition with Prof. Nadia Boulanger at the Paris Conservatory in the 70'ies. IDHEC/Paris have trained many prominent filmmakers including Louis Malle, Alain Resnais, Jean-Jacques Annaud, Costa Gavras, Arnaud Desplechin, Pascale Ferran, while Italian masters such as Antonioni, deSica, Fellini, Pasolini taught generations of filmmakers at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. Today, IDHEC is known as La Fémis renamed in 1988 to École Nationale Supérieure des Métiers de l'Image et du Son, and Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia remains Europe's leading cinematography center. Mr. Mark speaks English and French and has received numerous letters of recognition for his contributions to classical music and for LISZT & CHOPIN IN PARIS film.
