John Tobin

I worked in television broadcasting for the past ten years. My area of expertise is as a Vision Mixer but I have extensive experience in Directing both live and pre-recorded studio productions and numerous ENG shoots. My most recent work includes directing live matches for TG4 and Setanta Sports, vision mixing for Observe Outside Broadcast Facilities, Sky Sports, RTÉ, BBC NI, Setanta Sports, TV3 and the GAA Championship on both RTÉ and TV3. I was also Vision Mixer on HM Queen Elizabeth II state visit to Ireland for Observe OB Facilities on behalf of RTÉ. I was Director for TV3's online feed of Europa Cup Final 2011 held in the Aviva Stadium, Dublin.

I use Final Cut Pro 7 and FCPX for editing.

I am Creative Director with Mashup Media which is a digital content creation agency and is going to, one day, make me very rich!!!

My other area of expertise lies in digital media. In 2012 I attained a Masters in Digital Media in IADT, Dun Laoghaire. I strongly believe that video is the future of online. With quickening broadband speeds and lower barriers to entry for producers, we are, I believe, on the cusp of a new and exciting era of visual communications.
