I’m a freelance writer, editor and creative consultant based in Lancaster, England. I help promote the Lakes International Comic Art Festival, advise comic creators on how to promote their work/ get published and run the comic news site downthetubes.net, a resource I started running back in 1999. It's gotten a bit big since then, but it includes comic creator guides, interviews with comic creators, British comics-skewed comic news and more.

I'm also currently writing the online SF adventure strip "Crucible", drawn by Smuzz (whose credits include 2000AD), lettered by Jim Campbell.

The Really Heavy Greatcoat, which I wrote for over 20 years with Nick Miller, is being republished online on Tapastic and new strips by Nick are appearing there, too.

Previously, I worked full time work for ROK Comics, part of ROK Global, which has published a number of audio comics including Team MOBILE and The Beatles Story, the latter drawn by Arthur Ranson.

Between 2010 and 2014, I edited STRIP: The Adventure Comics Magazine for Bosnian-based publishing house Print Media, as well as working on their graphic novel projects. I wrote numerous stories for STRIP, including the initial episodes of "Black Ops Extreme" and "King Cobra".

I had my first book, Sci-Fi Art Now, published in 2010 by ILEX in the UK and Harper Collins in the US, a collection of some of the best in contemporary science fiction art by a wide range of creators and includes an introduction by the legendary Chris Foss.

My past credits include editor at Marvel UK, and editor of Doctor Who Magazine, Star Trek Magazine, Overkill, Babylon 5 Magazine and many other titles.
