John Armitage is a native of the Californian city of Oakland. After serving his nation in the United States Army, he went on to attend the University of California, Fullerton's Communications Photography department. In 1987, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in photography and soon discovered a flair for commercial product photography and brand identity design. An apprenticeship with special-effects photographer Jack Eason had a significant impact on his career trajectory, as well as providing him with a thorough grasp of the affects of lighting.
Previously, John worked as a studio manager for a graphic design business in Los Angeles before migrating to the broader Atlanta metro region, namely the Norcross and Lilburn neighborhoods. Armitage Photography was founded by him in 1993. Over the course of his career, John has had the chance to deal with a diverse range of corporate and business clients of all sizes.
