John Berry, DVM

An animal lover since birth, veterinarian John Berry, DVM, began working with animals while a high school student. At Marine World/Africa USA, he cared for a wide variety of exotic creatures, including large cats, elephants, and African veldt animals. Following high school, John Berry, DVM, enrolled in the University of Southern California on a full football scholarship, earning Academic All American status in 1983. After graduating with his degree in biological sciences, he began studying for his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University, graduating in 1990.

After 2½ years of practice in Petaluma, California, John Berry, DVM, relocated to Lynden, Washington, and opened his own facility. Lynden Veterinary Hospital saw considerable success from the start. With Dr. Berry still functioning as the practice's owner and President today, Lynden offers a full range of medical care to pets of all types. The most experienced exotic animal veterinarian in Whatcom County, John Berry, DVM, has treated numerous species of animals, including tigers, lions, skunks, kinkajous, goats, pigs, and flying squirrels.

Committed to providing the best in care, John Berry, DVM, offers the latest in diagnostic and treatment equipment at his practice. Lynden Veterinary Hospital has the only MLS Cold Laser north of Seattle, as well as the most advanced hot laser in the county. In addition, Lynden is the only veterinary hospital in the county to utilize a purely digital radiograph system similar to those used for humans. As a result, patients of Dr. Berry receive the most modern care available in northwest Washington State.

Dr. Berry believes in contributing to the community. To that end, he offers senior citizen and military discount days at Lynden Veterinary Hospital, in addition to volunteering his time and bringing his own animals to local retirement homes. In his free time, he enjoys the company of his wife and four children.
