John Boumenot

A graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, with a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Education, John Boumenot currently works as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor assisting individuals seeking to become Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). With a graduate degree in language education from London Teachers Training College, John Boumenot also earned a certificate from Literacy Works Chicago and instructs language skills to a wide range of individuals and families in the Chicago area.

After founding and operating his construction firm, BW Rentals, from 1972 to 2008, John Boumenot built luxury homes and performed renovations while coordinating rental properties, several of which he also owned. Supervising individuals in a range of construction projects in Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Indiana, and Illinois, John Boumenot oversaw the daily activities of several full-time employees for this moderately sized company.

From 1998 to 2001, John Boumenot led efforts at the Affordable Housing Committee in Walworth County, Wisconsin, where he played a vital role as the Committee’s Chairman and established new, inexpensive housing and the Twin Oaks Shelter. By using his knowledge of the building and renovation industries to enhance the organization’s daily operations, Mr. Boumenot helped perfect the group’s procedures and establish ongoing construction endeavors.

John Boumenot supports his community as an American Red Cross donor and is listed in the National Saltwater Angler Registry, which NOAA Fisheries Service maintains. As a former Vice President and current member of the Lincoln Park Builders of Chicago, he networks with area professionals in the construction and real estate industries.
