Over the span of his 30 year career, John Buckingham has acted as an executive leader for seven public and privately owned companies, founded two enterprises, and served as an Adjunct Professor of marketing courses for several universities across the United States. Mr. Buckingham initiated his corporate involvement during his scholarship at Harvard Business School, developing and implementing a new division within Colgate-Palmolive Company while earning his MBA from the Ivy League institution.
In subsequent years, John Buckingham filled senior-level management positions at companies such as West Chemical and Intoximeters before launching his own ventures. John Buckingham’s first entrepreneurial undertaking was Solana MedSpas, a medical spa development firm he founded in 2004. By incorporating newly developed aesthetic technology into traditional spa treatments, John Buckingham expanded the medical spa market and paved the way for Solana MedSpa's success to the top. John Buckingham’s leadership of Solana MedSpas garnered attention from multiple renowned media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, Fortune magazine and Dallas Morning News.
An industry trade show also featured John Buckingham as their keynote speaker, for which he delivered a presentation entitled “The Evolution and Revolution of the Medical Aesthetics Industry.” Selling Solana MedSpas to a private equity firm and semi retiring in 2008, Mr. Buckingham turned his professional aspirations elsewhere, but kept within the healthcare industry. John Buckingham founded and is Chief Executive Officer of MedResults, a group purchasing organization offering rebates and discounts on medical supplies to aesthetic physicians and medical spas...discounts they could not realize if purchasing on their own. In addition to running MedResults, John is a full time member of the marketing faculty at Pepperdine’s graduate school. Commanding an extensive history in teaching, Mr. Buckingham has served as an Adjunct Professor at several other universities, such as the University of Calif at Irvine.
John Buckingham assisted in creating the University of California, Irvine’s Spa and Hospitality Management Certificate Program. His teaching portfolio includes courses such as Technology in Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Int'l Marketing and Marketing Communications.
