John Bullock

I am passionate about my ABC's — Aviation, Bicycling and Cybersecurity. In the latter, I am especially interested in the tension between privacy and technology.

As an IT Auditor I assesses IT governance, risk management and internal controls as they apply to cybersecurity in government. Prior to that I was the Chief Information Security Officer at Dalhousie University where I managed risks to the university's IT resources, developed policies and procedures for data handling, managed security incidents, and created privacy and security awareness programs.

Raised on Canada's Pacific coast. Seasoned on the Atlantic. In 2014 I was lured back to Victoria by work at the Office of the Auditor General, mild cycling weather and improved flight training opportunities. I may have swapped coasts but my focus on the ABC's is unchanged.
