John Coakes

I have over 20 years of experience working in various Accounting, Finance, and Operational Management positions with small businesses in Calhoun County. Prior to that I spent 3 1/2 years in the audit and tax departments of Price Waterhouse where I was a licensed CPA. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree from Michigan State University. I grew up in Marshall, and my wife Paula and I have lived in our Pennfield home for over 25 years. Paula is an RN with Bronson Battle Creek. Together, we have two children, Jessica (a 2013 Miller College graduate), and Matthew (a 2009 Kellogg Community College graduate). I presently serve on the board of the Art Center of Battle Creek. In my spare time, I enjoy running and playing softball.
