John is Co-founder and Editor in Qi of Modern Day Qi… he thinks it sounds more interesting than Editor in Chief. If he had a 24 hour webcam on his desk you’d probably find him sorting through article submissions, answering readers questions, or thinking deeply, very deeply. Heather says last one is hard to distinguish from napping, but I assure you he is a deep thinker.
John has been a seeker ever since, at 8 years old, he and a small group of friends actually got that light as a feather, stiff as board levitation thingy to work. Since then he’s explored lots of cool stuff, including studying and then teaching tai chi.
On a different note, he’s done just about everything there is related to real estate and construction from buying and managing property to construction consulting, to actually building stuff, lots of stuff. That last one came in real handy with the Modern Day Qi Studio.
He isn’t quite as widely traveled as his better half, but he has ventured off to some pretty interesting places such as studying tai chi in China and facing off with a 16′ crocodile and an adult wart hog in the Okavango Delta of Botswana Africa, although thankfully not at the same time.
Also, because of The World According to Heather he’s certain he’ll never catch up to her in travel time logged. Other than his occasional jaunt, he’s spent much of his spare time traveling inward, or at least thinking about traveling inward.
While it may have taken him a while to realize it, he now understands that there is great value in blending mainstream medical practices and alternative practices, a process now commonly referred to as complimentary practices. His intention with Modern Day Qi is to help as many other people as possible see that it doesn’t need to be one or the other, but that there is often a valuable and credible synergy when the two disciplines are brought together.
Some people consider John interesting, others think he’s a bit “Off Center”. John likes to think he has many and varied interests. In reality he mainly likes the kind of stuff you’ll find on Modern Day Qi.
