John Cursio
Possessing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of Western Ontario and a Diploma in Residential Construction Management from George Brown College, John Cursio launched his career by joining Heron Homes, where he served as Site Supervisor. Presiding over residential home construction, John Cursio directly conducted trades and communicated with municipal building officials regarding inspections. John Cursio also oversaw move-ins for new homeowners. Subsequently joining Ontario’s Ministry of Government Services, John Cursio accepted a position as Project Supervisor. Demonstrating his leadership abilities, he supervised and managed five unionized employees, developed training programs, and connected with senior managers to establish and implement regional repair programs. Additionally, he resolved disputes between the Ministry and contractors and established priorities for various projects. From the Ministry of Government Services, John Cursio transitioned to Management Board Secretariat, where he operated as a Program Manager before moving on to the Ontario Realty Corporation. Over the course of nearly a decade with the company, he steadily ascended ranks at the Ontario Realty Corporation, beginning as a Senior Project Manager, later earning promotion to Manager of Project and Construction Services, and finally assuming the role of Vice President of the Project Management branch. While fulfilling his responsibilities under these titles, John Cursio represented the company in transactions with industry organizations, generated policies that facilitated more cost-effective services for clients, and managed major capital construction projects. Having substantially honed his skills in a multitude of capacities, he turned his attention to acting as Senior Project Manager for Hatton & Associates, where he directed a multi-million dollar commercial redevelopment project. More recently, John Cursio served as Senior Project Manager for the Toronto Transit Commission and Manager of Business Development for ENVIROWALL Partition Systems Ltd. Today, he presides as Manager of Operations for Terco Construction Ltd., coordinating daily construction activities, conducting cost analyses in preparation for estimates, and scheduling projects.
