I am a researcher at the University of Glasgow, working on an AHRC project examining the history of the Musicians' Union. I teach on M.Litt. course on Popular Music Studies.
My PhD was about 'Intellectual Property, Entrepreneurship and Rent Seeking in the Music Industries.'
Prior lives have included working as a band manager (bis, belle and sebastian, el hombre trajeado, swelling meg); writing about music (mainly for The Herald) and organising / promoting gigs and events.
