John P. Doran
I am technical game designer who has worked on all manners of educational, mod, and professional game projects. I graduated from DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, WA with a Bachelor of Science in Game Design.
I previously worked at LucasArts in San Francisco, CA on Star Wars 1313 as an intern Level Designer. Currently, I have just completed the first of a series of books working with Packt Publishing on using UDK. I am also working at DigiPen's campus in Singapore tutoring and assisting students on various subjects while giving lectures on C++, UDK, Flash, Actionscript 3, and using them together with Scaleform as well as leading a lab class using Linear Algebra.
Throughout a game's life-cycle I play the role of the player's advocate. My goal is to find the gem of fun to an audience and exploit it in every way that I can to make the most enjoyable experience possible for the game's target audience.
