John D Steuart is a venture capitalist and a founding entrepreneur with an extensive experience as investment and growth company executive. He has raised over $300 million for early-stage venture capital funds. Furthermore, he has led investments and served on boards of over a dozen healthcare and technology companies. On top of that, Steuart guided M&A and IPO processes as CFO and EVP of Strategic Relations to profitable liquidity events.

Steuart, a CPA, is a graduate of UC Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He has also earned a master’s degree in Taxation from the Golden Gate University. Moreover, he has served on the advisory board to the Lester Center's Berkeley Entrepreneurs' Forum.

The first company Steuart has owned and co-founded is Savvy Properties, L.P., a property management company established at Berkeley, CA in 1988. His partner is Michael Kraszulyak. His next is CyberGold, an internet payment and loyalty marketing company he co-founded with Nat Goldhaber and Gary Fitts in 1999, wich was later acquired by Mypoints. His third is Claremont Creek Ventures, a CA-based venture capital firm investing in early-stage digital healthcare and technology companies. He co-founded the firm with Randy Hawks and Nat Goldhaber in 2005.

In 1985, Steuart started out as a senior associate at Arthur Andersen & Co.

After three years with Arthur Andersen & Co., he worked at Alafi Capital Company. Steart was the CFO and a venture investor at the same time.

Starting in 2012, Steuart was Prolog Venture’s (West Coast Office) managing director for two years. Prolog Venture is a venture capital firm that funds startups supporting healthy living.
