John Tague

A litigation partner at Tague & Vanden Heuvel LLP, John F. Tague III practices in the areas of marital and family law, commercial and contract litigation, and estate planning. John F. Tague III pursued his undergraduate education at Villanova University, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1975. He then earned a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and finance from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. Admitted to Fordham University School of Law, John F. Tague III attended evening classes while maintaining a full-time job as a Passenger Sales Representative for Aeroméxico Airlines in New York City. He received his Juris Doctor from Fordham in 1986, and in 2008, John F. Tague III enrolled in an 18-month online course in financial planning, culminating in his being awarded a Certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University. Upon graduation from Fordham University School of Law, John F. Tague III accepted a position as a Staff Attorney in the Broker-Dealer Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in New York City. He subsequently became a litigation associate with the New York City law firm of Werbel, McMillin & Carnelluti, P.C., practicing with the firm for six years. In 1994, John F. Tague III accepted an Of Counsel position with the Greenwich, Connecticut law firm of Bleakley Platt & Schmidt LLP. Three years later, he formed Tague & Vanden Heuvel LLP with his wife and law partner, Cynthia V. Tague. John F. Tague III is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts. He is also a member of the Westchester County Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association.
