John Ifediora
An economist and practicing attorney, John Ifediora is a respected academic, prolific author, and committed activist in the fields of economics, development, and international law. John Ifediora is a Professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he has taught for the past two decades. In his teaching curriculum, Dr. Ifediora focuses on applied microeconomics, international economics and law, and economic development. He has lectured on these topics and others, including public policy analysis and international human rights law, at universities throughout the United States, Europe, and Africa. John Ifediora has served as the chair of the Economics Department at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and co-founded the Center for Applied Public Policy in 2001. Throughout his career, John Ifediora has served as a government consultant to several African nations and to numerous state governments within the United States. Some of his notable recent consulting projects have been with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and as an advisor to the Illinois State Senate on the economic impact of the state lottery on the city of Chicago. An expert in international law, John Ifediora also serves as the lead attorney at Ifediora Law Offices in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Ifediora has authored a number of books and articles on economics, international law, and public policy and is particularly dedicated to working towards African development. He serves as a founder and director of Mobile Medics For Africa, a non-profit organization which delivers modern medical services to under-served African populations. John Ifediora holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dakota Wesleyan University, a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago, a Master of Studies in Law from the University of Oxford, and a Master of Science in Quantitative Economics from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Dr. Ifediora has also earned a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School, a Ph.D. in Economics/Public Policy Analysis from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Ph.D. in Development Studies/Applied Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has done post-graduate work at the London School of Economics and the University of Cambridge.
