2 things that inspire me: meeting passionate people and building scalable solutions to important problems. Would love to chat! I am great at 3 things: quantitative analysis, social entrepreneurship, and creating digital content.
-Quantitative analysis.-
I began my work in finance based on the hypothesis that money is the bloodline of the world. In 2015, I worked as an intern and financial analyst with the Sharpe Group, a Merrill Lynch Wealth Management team. As the main quantitative horsepower on the team, I worked with BAML managing directors to construct portfolios outperforming the S&P500 benchmark for high-net worth clients. Over two years, I learned an important lesson: financing does not solve problems but can complement problem solving. People solve problems. Team is everything.-Technology entrepreneurship in Asia-
A visit to the ICU at a hospital changed my life. I witnessed underprivileged families deciding whether to take care of their dying loved ones or to sacrifice their own financial well-being. My heart moved for those without the finances to access basic needs. In 2017, I joined GIVE.asia, a crowdfunding platform for social causes. Since joining, our start-up has powered and consulted over 350 non-profits in 8 different countries throughout East Asia. As the COO, I helped increase our annual fundraising efforts from $10 to $12 million SGD, leading to $600,000 SGD in revenue.-Leading teams to scale digital business solutions-
I specialized in building digital content creation teams and business development to tackle challenging social issues. A YouTube search of “Elderly in Korea” will show one case example of our impact: 2 million+ views, and over $200,000 USD raised in collaboration with the Asian Boss channel. Our team used these funds to develop a CSR campaign with the GM of Uber Eats in Korea, which hosts the highest elderly poverty rate in Asia of 50%.
