QUALIFICATION
1. Must be a registered Voter
2. Satisfies educational, moral and ethical requirements as per the constitution or Act of Parliament.
3. Is nominated by a political party
4. Independent candidate:
- Supported by at least 1,000 registered voters in the constituency for the MP
- Supported by at least 2,000 voters registered in the country for the Senate
DISQUALIFICATION
A person can be disqualified if:
a. Is a State office/ Public Officer other than MP
b. Has at any time within the 5 years immediately preceding the date of the elections, held office as a Member of the Independent Electoral
