John Lee

John Lee is a nineteen year old highly acclaimed jazz musician from Nanaimo BC, Canada. Currently studying at Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA), Lee is a multi-instrumentalist that has grown a reputation of being a young professional drummer. Lee is a dedicated musician with years of experience in education, performance and session work of many genres. Although initially forced into playing the drums in his school band, Lee soon realized that drums was his true calling and went on to winning many prestigious awards and recognition at high school jazz festivals. Lee’s musical studies continued when he was awarded with the Slaight Family Scholarship for Berklee College of Music at the age of sixteen. The full scholarship allowed him to travel to Boston, and expand his knowledge with musicians all over the world. Over the years John has had the privilege to study or perform with established jazz musicians such as Terell Stafford, Ingrid Jensen, Greg Osby, Ralph Peterson Jr., and Phil Dwyer.
