I'm fond of this watercolour because I feel I successfully captured the warmth and colour of that bright sunny day and the inviting texture of the water.

The green ceramic tiled pool, with its hard concrete surround, lies within a modern aluminium screen cage. Yet it is bounded by a rough tumbledown wooden fence and features graceful ferns.
