John Macoviak MD is a distinguished medical professional with decades of experience in the industry. Now retired, John Macoviak spent the majority of his career as a Heart Transplant Surgeon. He had the honor of performing the very first heart transplant in Washington, DC, and went on to perform the next 30 as the only surgeon in the area as well. His medical expertise and heart health knowledge inspired John Macoviak to create over 40 patents for cardiac devices that have much improved the heart health industry. In addition to his patents and publications, Macoviak enjoyed a long career at various Universities as a professor in each school's respective medical departments.
