John Manno, the Vice President and co-owner of Southland Printing Company Inc., believes in the importance of community service and serves Shreveport, Louisiana, in a multitude of roles. Through positions as Vice President and co-owner of the Southland Printing Company Inc., John Manno sponsors a variety of charitable groups, including The Strand Theatre, where John Manno served on the Board of Directors for 28 years, and the adoption service for Volunteers of America. In addition to this, John Manno supports the Northwest Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross and has acted as the Chairman for its Board of Directors in 2008 and 2009. The March of Dimes Foundation recognized John Manno's many years of philanthropy when they named him as their Citizen of the Year in 2010.
As a graduate of Northwestern State University of Louisiana, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1978, John Manno is deeply involved in giving back to this institution. In 2008, John Manno took on the role of Capital Campaign Chairman with his wife Lynne for the Northwestern State University Foundation Board. Furthermore, John Manno created several scholarships for Northwestern State University, such as the Michael Peter Manno Scholarship for the Department of Journalism and the Kappa Sigma Leadership Scholarship. In honor of this, Northwestern State University inducted John Manno into the "N" Club, the University's athletic alumni organization, as well as its exclusive Alumni Hall of Distinction, the Long Purple Line.
