John Mathis
Durham, NC
In his youth, John delivered newspapers, detasseled corn, went cow tipping, and studied music. He was an award-winning bass/baritone soloist who was the youngest member of the Indianapolis Opera Theater, opened for the Oak Ridge Boys, and performed for President Reagan all before his twentieth birthday. He graduated from Marian University where he double majored in English Education and Music Performance.
Life events pre-empted his desired Masters Degree in ancient medieval literature and led to pharmaceutical research. During this same period, he returned to school to become a registered nurse.
Always curious, he physically traveled to Europe, the Caribbean, Canada, and almost all of the United States. His mental adventures include astral projection, remote viewing, Usui reiki, and Silva Mind Method.
After publishing several works of poetry and prose, his response to 9/11 was to write a book that would be a metaphysical primer. Side tracked by bankruptcy, a coma and nursing school, he published his book, The Alchemist's Heir, in 2012. This is his first novel.
John lectures on a series of topics: Metaphysics 101, Near Death Experience (NDE) Survivorship, bullying, and the benefits of Complementary and Alternative Modality (CAM) Therapies to improve Patient reported Outcomes (PRO)
