In working toward his business administration degree, John McGourty concentrates his studies on finance and strategy management consulting. He has spent the past several summers as an analyst with Deloitte Consulting, where he has worked on the human resources team and design implementation team for the Rhode Island Unified Health Infrastructure Project (UHIP). John McGourty has since returned to work on the UHIP project as a trainer/supervisor for state workers. In this capacity, he supports the completion of aid applications.

On campus, John McGourty leads as philanthropy chair of Kappa Sigma. He has facilitated a number of events, including a collaborative event with the Miracle Foundation that raised more than $5,000 to benefit childhood cancer patients.

Mr. McGourty also is founder of the Golf Club, which gained 18 new members through his self-developed recruitment strategy. An orientation leader as well, he helps first-year students forge new relationships and transition smoothly into college life. He plans to graduate with his bachelor's degree in the spring of 2019.
