John Miller Sooner Copy Machines
John Miller, President and owner of Sooner Copy Machines, Inc., got an early start in the office equipment business when he began working for his father at the age of 15. Throughout high school, John Miller fulfilled a number of positions, including toner and dispersant tank cleaner, office janitor, typewriter cleaner, and delivery technician. He graduated from high school in Antlers, Oklahoma, and went on to the University of Oklahoma, where he studied business management and belonged to the fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon. John Miller then became an outside sales representative at his father’s company and maintained his own territory. He set records for his position by establishing several new accounts. As a result, he took on more responsibility and launched two new dealerships for the company.
After a decade with his father’s business, John Miller decided to use his experience to open an office equipment firm of his own in Norman, Oklahoma. Sooner Copy Machines focuses on providing businesses with high-quality equipment to meet all copying, printing, scanning, and faxing needs. Though he began with no customer base and no employees, John Miller grew his company from a start-up to one of the largest dealerships in the state of Oklahoma. Currently, he oversees the operations of six locations in Norman, Enid, Chickasha, Oklahoma City, Stillwater, and Lawton. He manages a staff of 40. His sales team has been awarded by Sharp for selling over $1 million of Sharp products per year.
Sooner Copy Machines sells office equipment from well-known brands such as Toshiba, Sharp, and KIP. The company can customize each piece of equipment to fit the needs of its clients. It also provides customers with a service contract, fulfilled by factory-trained technicians who respond promptly to calls. In situations in which a copy machine may be out of commission for a time, the company offers loaner equipment. John Miller has achieved a great deal of success with his business and shows his appreciation through community service and contributions. He actively supports school athletic programs and other educational projects, and the Norman Public Schools district has acknowledged him for his charitable efforts.
