John M. Spartz, PhD
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
With a focus on efficiency, productivity, and image, I work with companies to help solve their communication problems. As a consultant, I design and deliver training and workshop sessions, provide writing services and in-house resources, coach team members and executives, and generally delight audiences with my approach and sense of humor.
With more than 15 years of teaching experience and successful consultations (including Runzheimer International and the Center for Community Partnerships), I am uniquely positioned to help companies--both big and small--with their internal and external writing and communication issues.
I earned my Ph.D. in English from Purdue University, where I completed a primary concentration in English Language and Linguistics and secondary concentrations in Professional Writing and ESL. I am currently an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Professional Writing Certificate Program in the English Department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
My current scholarship focuses on the relationship(s) between professional and technical communication and entrepreneurship from both a real-world and pedagogical perspective. My most recent work investigates the writing needs, values, and attitudes of entrepreneurs at various stages of the entrepreneurial venture.
