John Markham

Limerick, Ireland

John Markham is a Limerick, Ireland based writer, superhero and graduate of the University of Limerick on two occasions, firstly for a Bachelor of Arts in New Media and English and subsequently a Higher Diploma in Software Development.

Some of his interests include watching films, varied from crime thrillers, action, black comedy, the often dreadful but amusing horror film to the great foreign cinema of Asia, particularly the works of Kim Ji-woon and Takeshi Kitano. He also is a fan of television shows such as The Sopranos, Brotherhood (the most underrated television show in history in his opinion), Deadwood and a wild variety of others from The Simpsons (Seasons 4-9 in particular) and the swear-tastic The Thick of It.

John also has a keen interest in music, with some of his favourite bands including Alice in Chains, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Smashing Pumpkins, Queens of the Stone Age and Eels to name but a few. He also is a passionate Fulham F.C. and F.C. Barcelona supporter, having been a Fulham fan since they entered the Premier League over a decade ago, and a Barcelona fan since the early 2000s, when things in Catalonia weren’t as sunny as they are now.

John is also a video game enthusiast, having been around games practically all of his life. Some of my favourite gaming experiences include Half-Life 2, Metal Gear Solid, BioShock Infinite, The Last of Us and recently Euro Truck Simulator 2, where he goes by the alias Big Rig Markham, of course.

And if you have been wondering who has been writing this, it was of course me, John, writing in the third person seems cooler and more professional. But this shows I have different writing styles, excellent.
