I hold my B.S. in Psychology from Bridgewater State University and am currently working on my MEd in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. I have always had a passion for guiding and supporting students and individuals in general through situations in their life and attempting to allow positivity and happiness to flow through them.
Throughout my past professional job experiences I have found my true calling withing the field of Student Affairs. I always say, seeing change happen right before your very own eyes is a "miracle in progress". To see a transformation in ones personal life as well as being a positive contributor to that change is important. In my current role as a Residence Director at Stonehill College, I have the ability to witness these miracles and student growth every day through advising, mentoring, and judicial hearings. I push students to challenge everything they've been told (appropriately), I push them to think abstractly, and challenge students to find their passions and allow that to guide them in their professional and personal life.
I would like to research information on how professionals within the field of Student Affairs can use different means social media, Social Interactive Techonologies (SITs), and technology as a whole to passively-positively affect our student population and continue to educate and engage (emerging) student-leaders.
With that being said, I posit that professionals within the field of Student Affairs must consider using and integrating SITs, Social Media, and other forms of technology to allow individuals from different communities to come together and educate each other and help diversify their perspectives through different means of communication.
