John O'Shea

John O'Shea

John is a self-employed bookkeeper and founded his own company, O'Shea Debits and Credits in 2009. He is also an instructor for NBCC Miramichi in the Continuing Education Department and teaches various computer and accounting courses, including the Payroll Compliance Practitioner Program.

In the past few years, John has volunteered with the following organizations in the capacities listed:

  • Napan Agricultural Show – 1997 to present – Director, Past 2nd Vice President, and Past Treasurer. Responsibilities included – Announcer and Show Ring Events Coordinator, Website and Prize Book, and Public Relations
  • Miramichi Jaycees Soapbox Derby – 2009 to present – Announcer
  • Eastern Super Mini Cup Series – Founding Organizer. Responsibilities include: Public Relations, Website, and Acting Race Director and Announcer
  • Hospice Miramichi organization – Treasurer

John O'Shea enjoys being involved in his community and helping others. For the past 15 years, John has been actively involved in his adopted community of Napan as a Director with the Napan Agricultural Show. From swinging a hammer, to organizing the event schedule and lending his voice as Announcer, John is passionate about being involved with a unique community event that has been part of Miramichi's history for the past 20 years.

As an avid stock car racing enthusiast, John also volunteers with a couple of Miramichi based racing events. He volunteers as Announcer for the annual Miramichi Jaycees' Soapbox Derby, a great racing event for kids 12 and under. John is also one of the founding organizers of the Eastern Super Mini Cup Series that promotes a cost effect, entry level racing series at various race tracks in New Brunswick.

Recently, John has brought his business skills to volunteer with Hospice Miramichi as Treasurer. As a night school Instructor of NBCC Miramichi business courses, John has been known to give of his free time to students who need extra help, as well as to family and friends with their computer problems.

Whether it is his community, his love of racing, the business community or students, family and friends, John does his best to be involved and to help others.
