John R Naugle

Atlanta City of Peace

Hello. My name is John. In 2003-2004 I created the brand term ©Atlanta: City of Peace™ and in 2006 I established an organization by the same name. We are joining peacemakers everywhere (local-global) to nurture the Gandhi-King Global Peace Connection and to transform & formalize Dr. King's birthplace into a Global Capital of Peace.

One of our our most exciting projects is:

The Global Peace Museum (GPM)

Our 'mother-organization' is...

Atlanta: City of Peace, Inc. (ACP)

On a personal level, every day, I look for ways to be grateful, and to celebrate the life I've been given... plus the global family that I am a part of. While growing up, my Mother gifted her children with an inspiring example and uplifting perspective.

"As we learn to see all of those around us as important sisters and brothers in our huge and beautiful family, our Global Family, then we can celebrate life better."

It was through the inspiration of my parents and many, many siblings (from my immediate, and our extended Global Family) that I authored the Declaration of Peace Millennium (Years 2000-3000) and also established Atlanta: City of Peace, Inc. (ACP). We invite and welcome you as a co-founder (regardless of where on Earth you live).

I've done contract library tech work for the Centers for Disease Control-Information Center (through Cadence Group Associates) and am well-informed of the numerous health challenges that face our global family. In 2007, I was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for: The Gandhi Foundation USA. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, and I am a graduate of the Georgia Master Gardener's Program through the Univ. of Georgia's Co-op Extension Service. I have also donated my time and talent to more than 100 other metro-Atlanta nonprofits. Concerned about my former hometown, I also campaigned to be Mayor of Marietta, GA in '93 & '97.

Being enlivened by the accomplishments of hundreds of inspirations (both historical and contemporary) I find ways to enjoy the 'garden' labor we have before us... of shaping and nurturing our Global Family for the bright future ahead. For 'direction' I regularly look to my favorite-quote file. For example:

"You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete."
