John Rokita DDS

Periodontist John Rokita, DDS, owns and operates a private practice in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, which he founded in 1974 and which flourished. Today, he offers general and advanced periodontal care, cosmetic periodontal surgery, dental implants, and other treatments. Prior to establishing his own practice, Dr. Rokita spent several years teaching periodontics at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and serving as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Dental Corps. John Rokita, DDS, completed a Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Wilkes University in three years, then enrolled in Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry in 1964. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery and performed his postgraduate training in periodontics at the Kornberg School as well. During Dr. Rokita’s graduate and postgraduate years, he taught courses on clinical periodontics and served part-time in a practice. From 1970 to 1972, he worked in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps at the Naval Station Mayport dentistry office in Jacksonville, Florida, and oversaw dental care for 17,000 ships’ personnel located at three naval facilities in the region. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Rokita joined the University of Connecticut’s School of Dental Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Periodontics. In this position, he taught a fourth-year graduate program, contributed to treatment-planning seminars, and oversaw clinical instruction for students and residents training at the McCook Hospital in Hartford. Currently, John Rokita, DDS, balances his demanding duties as a private practitioner with continuing education and community engagements. Dr. Rokita belongs to several regional and national professional societies, including the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Montgomery Bucks Dental Society, and the American Academy of Periodontology. In addition, he formerly served on the Alumni Board of Directors for the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University. He is deeply involved in the free clinic at Doylestown Hospital.
