Growing up in the Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn, John Savignano (“Savignano”) enjoyed being raised in the blue-collar, working-class neighborhood. His father owned a fruit and vegetable store, and his mother was a homemaker.

He graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School and worked full-time in his father’s store. Having worked at the store since he was a young boy, Savignano learned the value of a strong work ethic.

Savignano accepted a position with the prestigious Big 8 accounting firm at that time -Price Waterhouse and later earned a master’s degree in taxation from Pace University. During his time at Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), he worked in both the tax and audit divisions. He gained experience with major international companies and was promoted from staff accountant to senior auditor to tax manager.

In 1991, he joined Carl Zeiss Holding Co., Inc. an international manufacturer, distributor, and service company of high-end optical products. He served as acting chief financial officer, corporate controller and director of tax. There, he gained extensive international business experience. Launching His Own Accounting Firm
